WHAT DO K&M LESSONS INCLUDE?
For ages 8+ years old we teach all of our students how to safely handle horses from the moment they halter their horse to the moment they turn out their horse.
- Catching / Turnout of horse
- Grooming: This varies based on length of lesson
- Tacking / Untacking
- Rinsing/bathing a horse
- Cleaning tack
- Braiding mane/tail
- Beginner to Advanced opportunities from arena work, trails, barrels, hill work, riding in the creek, showing, off-site trails, groundwork and more!
When possible, I love to ride with my students to have great hands-on and visual demonstration.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE SCHEDULING A LESSON?
All students need to wear closed toed shoes with a heel.
All tack and helmets are provided, but you're welcome to bring your own!
If you have a saddle, we will check the fit before clearing the saddle for use.
Not every lesson will be a riding lesson, but bad weather doesn't mean we can't have a lesson! We take bad weather or unsafe riding conditions as an opportunity to learn non-riding portions of horses.
Lessons at K&M are designed to set up a rider for horse ownership. We will help you in your journey if you decide to buy your own horse!

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LESSON TIMES?
30 minutes is for the littles testing the waters. The horse is either in a stall or already tied and waiting for you! Young kids can help brush while I get the horse ready for riding! Riding is usually 10-15 minutes.
1 Hour is most common. This includes catching, 10-15 minutes of grooming, 10 minutes of tacking, 30 minutes of riding, and 5-10 minutes to untack and turnout. This is your standard riding lesson
1.5 hour is highly recommended! You get the most of your lesson in this time! the first 30-45 minutes is utilized for catching, grooming, and tacking. The quicker you get your horse ready the more ride time you have! This leaves us with 45-60 minutes to ride
